Latest Project – Dam works lead to dinner!

We were recently commissioned to undertake an inspection of selected elements of Yorkshire Water’s Thrusscross Reservoir Spillway Bridge near Harrogate using rope access. Additionally we carried out some material testing and sampling including the removal of 100mm dia cores, taken for compressive strength analysis, concrete dust sampling for chloride ion content determination and carbonation tests from pier faces. The works undertaken to facilitate an assessment of the structure.

Using rope access meant that the bridge, a vital route for locals, deliveries, etc, could stay open throughout works thus minimising disruption and taking pressure off the client during the works.

It wasn’t all plain sailing with the team having to work around 50mph+ winds, but it came good at the end when the client treated the hard working team to a thank you meal.
